A Word From Our Pastor
Great things happen when you combine passion and a plan. Moses had a heart and a burden to get his people out of bondage. Nehemiah wept, prayed, mourned and fasted for Jerusalem and had a plan of action. Paul had a passion and plan for setting up “outposts for Christ” all over the world.
In late 2016, God began planting a passion in my heart for a church I have loved all my life. In these past several months, God has ignited a desire in our hearts concerning four clear areas. Leading people to Christ, guiding people to God’s incredible grace, building a lifestyle of generosity and serving our community. The Oakland Heights vision is clear! We will not be a community of believers that are docile, apathetic or lethargic. We will not talk ideas to death. We are a people of action. Let’s Go To Work!
Our church is trusting that God will answer our prayer to become an effective and healthy multi-generational body of believers.
I pray that God will allow you to share our passion and see a clear plan. Great things seem to happen when you combine passion and a plan.

our spiritual gifts and treasures
Matthew 6:19-21 & 2 Corinthians 9:11
God blesses each one of us in various ways and we are called to extend those blessings to others. God has a specific plan for your time, talents and treasures, and you are called to be faithful stewards of everything He has given you.
people to the grace-filled life in Christ
Titus 2:11-12 & Romans 6:11-23
God’s Word is transformative and we desire each person to have the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Christ. Our Connection Groups are life-stage focused and typically meet year-round. Members study Scripture, pray for one another and connect through community activities. We also provide our community the opportunity to grow through worship and service within our church family.
1 Peter 4:10 & Matthew 23:11
God has provided each of us with spiritual gifts that should be used intentionally in service to others. As followers of Christ, serving others is our daily opportunity to be set apart and to be a light in the world. Serving others goes beyond the walls of our church and extends into our city. Oakland Heightst Baptist Church is committed to providing you with the opportunity to start serving today.
